The Pentagon has recently unveiled a new portal on the internet, allowing professionals to submit reports about UFOs, now referred to as unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs). This move not only provides a platform for reporting but also allows the public to access the released reports. The website, AARO.mil, serves as a centralized hub for all publicly available information related to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) and UAPs.
While the website is still under development, it currently offers a handful of videos showcasing UAPs, along with archives of congressional reports, briefings, press releases, and links to other relevant resources. Although some features, such as an online form for contacting the AARO, are labeled as “Coming Soon,” this platform marks an essential step in addressing the UAP issue with transparency and credibility.
Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, the Department of Defense’s press secretary, emphasized during a briefing that the website aims to be a comprehensive source of information on AARO and UAPs. He further stated, “The website will serve as a one-stop shop for all publicly available information related to AARO and UAP.” This commitment to transparency demonstrates the Pentagon’s dedication to sharing AARO’s discoveries with Congress and the public while ensuring the protection of critical national defense and intelligence capabilities.
In a recent report by DefenseScoop, it was revealed that Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks has assumed direct oversight of AARO and its director, Sean Kirkpatrick. This strategic move is intended to expedite the development of AARO and the website’s launch, indicating the increasing attention and credibility attributed to the UAP issue within the Pentagon. Hicks stated, “I believe that transparency is a critical component of AARO’s work, and I am committed to sharing AARO’s discoveries with Congress and the public.”
Secure Reporting Mechanism
Once fully operational, the AARO website will serve as a secure channel for current or former government employees, military personnel, and contractors to register UAP reports. Although the website will launch a secure reporting tool for authorized individuals this fall, the Pentagon plans to announce a mechanism for the general public to make reports in the coming months. This approach ensures that all UAP-related information is appropriately gathered and categorized.
Recognizing the crucial role of civilian pilots in UFO sightings, AARO encourages them to report UAP encounters to air traffic controllers. The Federal Aviation Administration will provide AARO with UAP-related pilot reports, known as PIREPs. Understanding UAP Categories
AARO classifies UAPs into three categories: airborne objects that are not immediately identifiable, transmedium objects or devices, and submerged objects or devices exhibiting behaviors suggesting a connection to the objects in the first two categories. These UAPs are considered anomalous detections that cannot be attributed to known actors and demonstrate behaviors that challenge conventional understanding.
