OnePlus Unveils OxygenOS 14 Update: What’s New?

OnePlus has recently introduced the OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 2, just a few weeks after the initial rollout of the OxygenOS 14 open beta update for select OnePlus models. This highly-anticipated update, based on Android 14, promises to bring a host of new features and improvements to supported OnePlus handsets. Let’s take a closer look at what OxygenOS 14 has in store for OnePlus users.

One of the standout features of OxygenOS 14 is the introduction of the Trinity Engine. Designed to enhance multitasking, handle heavy loads more efficiently, and optimize extended usage, the Trinity Engine utilizes CPU Vitalisation, RAM Vitalisation, and ROM Vitalisation. By intelligently distributing the phone’s internal resources, OxygenOS 14 aims to improve overall performance and offer longer battery life.

According to OnePlus, OxygenOS 14 provides an additional 20 minutes of battery life on the OnePlus 11 without sacrificing performance. Additionally, thanks to ROM Vitalisation, OnePlus handsets running OxygenOS 14 will continue to run quickly and smoothly even after 48 months of regular use.

Gaming enthusiasts will be delighted to know that OxygenOS 14 introduces HyperRendering, HyperTouch, and HyperBoost technologies. These advancements promise a more immersive and fluid gaming experience on OnePlus devices.

The next iteration of HyperBoost incorporates AI machine learning, intelligent performance control, and graphics element layout approaches to tackle power consumption issues without compromising a consistent frame rate experience. With these optimizations, OnePlus aims to deliver an unparalleled gaming experience on their smartphones.

OnePlus has prioritized security in OxygenOS 14 by introducing the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)-based Device Security Engine 3.0. This upgrade enhances the overall security standing of OnePlus handsets, allowing users to control their device’s security and privacy settings more seamlessly through the upgraded Security Centre.

Furthermore, OxygenOS 14 introduces Strong Box, a chip-level security encryption technology that safeguards third-party usage of passwords. Additionally, Auto Pixelate 2.0 conceals sensitive information like contact details and credit card numbers when sharing screenshots, ensuring users’ privacy remains protected.

OxygenOS 14 brings innovative features to enhance the camera capabilities of OnePlus devices. Users can now benefit from the new Smart Cutout tool, which allows them to identify and crop out up to three elements from an image. Whether removing a subject from a complex background or isolating individuals in a group photograph, this tool makes photo editing more intuitive and effortless.

Moreover, OxygenOS 14 introduces a new photo and video permission management option. With the “Ask every time” feature, users can have greater control over which applications can access their photos and videos, ensuring their privacy is protected.

OxygenOS 14 is built on the Aquamorphic Design 2.0 that offers a visually pleasing experience. With the Fluid Cloud feature, alerts and notifications are seamlessly integrated, appearing as bubbles, capsules, and panels in a flowing manner. This design philosophy creates an organic and immersive user interface.

To complement the new design, OxygenOS 14 introduces eleven new global UI sound designs. These sound designs, with an Aquamorphic theme, enhance the overall user experience, whether it’s incoming calls, alarms, or notification sounds.

OnePlus has released a roadmap for the OxygenOS 14 update. The flagship OnePlus 11 5G will be the first handset to receive the stable version of OxygenOS 14, scheduled for release in November. Meanwhile, the OxygenOS 14 Open Beta is already rolling out to select OnePlus models, including the OnePlus Pad, OnePlus Nord 3 5G, OnePlus 11R 5G, OnePlus 10 Pro 5G, and OnePlus 10T 5G.

In October, additional OnePlus handsets, such as the OnePlus 10R 5G, OnePlus 9 Pro 5G, OnePlus 9 5G, OnePlus 9R 5G, OnePlus 9RT 5G, OnePlus 8T 5G, OnePlus Nord CE 3 5G, OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G, OnePlus Nord N30 5G, OnePlus Nord 2T 5G, and OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite, will receive the OxygenOS 14 Open Beta. Furthermore, OnePlus has confirmed that the Nord N20 SE will receive a stable OS update.
