Levi Davies, who happened to be staying at the campsite during the accident, provided a harrowing account of the incident. He mentioned that his group of nine individuals heard screeching tires as the car came around a corner before abruptly crashing onto the campsite. In a state of panic, they rushed to the scene to find one person still trapped inside the vehicle, bleeding. Clare Harris, one of the campsite owners along with her husband Mike, expressed their shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident. According to Harris, the car was recklessly speeding down a hill and attempted to brake, but ultimately flipped and rolled multiple times before crashing into the tent. She reassured the public that the baby inside the tent was fortunately unharmed. However, due to the ongoing police investigation, Harris refrained from providing further details.
Police Investigation and Appeal for Information
Dyfed Powys Police reported that the car had been traveling from Roch to St Davids when it skidded off the A487 road. Passengers inside the vehicle were also among those who sustained injuries. The police promptly closed the road to conduct investigations, eventually reopening it at around 7.45 am the following day. Authorities are now urging anyone with information about the blue Ford Fiesta or its occupants to come forward, particularly those who have relevant dashcam or doorbell footage capturing the vehicle’s journey from Roch to the site of the collision at Newgale.

The HM Coastguard in Broad Haven responded quickly to the incident, being notified at 11.23 pm. They promptly coordinated a helicopter site and provided support to paramedics in delivering medical care to the casualties. The Welsh Ambulance Service swiftly dispatched six emergency ambulances, one duty operations manager, and a Cymru high acuity response unit to the scene. Additionally, their crews received assistance from the emergency medical and retrieval transfer service, as well as the search and rescue helicopter. Ultimately, one patient was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales while four others were transported by road to Glangwilli Hospital. Another patient was taken to Morriston Hospital for further treatment.
