Netflix Greenlights New Thriller Starring Keira Knightley

Netflix has announced a new thriller series called Black Doves, starring Keira Knightley, at a showcase event in London. The show is produced by Left Bank, the company behind The Crown, and Sister, the production company that produced Chernobyl. The series is written by Joe Barton and Knightley is an executive producer. The show is about a woman named Helen who gets into a passionate affair with a man who doesn’t know her true identity. When he falls victim to the dangerous underworld of London, Helen’s employer calls in a man named Sam to protect her.

Left Bank Announces Department Q Adaptation

Left Bank, currently working on the sixth season of The Crown, has announced a new adaptation of Danish author Jussi Adler-Olsen’s novels called Department Q. The series follows the story of Carl, a detective who is struggling with guilt after a tragic event. When he returns to work, he is assigned to solve a cold case that takes over his life.

Netflix Greenlights Bank of Dave Sequel

Netflix has also greenlit a sequel to Bank of Dave, a British underdog story starring Rory Kinnear. In the sequel, Kinnear’s character takes on payday lenders in order to protect vulnerable members of his community. The show will take risks, including the community bank that he founded two years ago, his own liberty, and even his life.

Netflix also teased several upcoming shows at the event, including documentaries about David Beckham and Robbie Williams, as well as Black Mirror, Heartstopper, and Queen Charlotte. The streaming giant has pledged to spend $6 billion in the UK by the end of 2023.
