iPhone 15 Series to Launch in India Soon After Global Release

The highly anticipated iPhone 15 series is set to launch on September 12 at the ‘Wonderlust’ event in Cupertino, California. This event will not only be live-streamed on apple.com and the Apple TV app but will also mark the release of four models in the iPhone 15 lineup – iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. While the global availability of these models will undoubtedly generate excitement, a recent report suggests that the iPhone 15 series will also be available for sale in India on the same day or shortly after.

In an effort to promote electronics production within the country, the Indian government has initiated several incentives for mobile, laptop, and semiconductor manufacturers. These incentives not only contribute to the nation’s gross domestic production but also create numerous job opportunities within the production and distribution sector. As part of this initiative, it is reported that iPhone 15 models manufactured under the “Make in India” scheme will be introduced to the Indian market simultaneously with their global release.

According to an Economic Times report, the iPhone 15 units destined for the Indian market will be produced in Apple assembler Foxconn’s Chennai factory. It is worth noting that during the launch of the iPhone 14 last year, the made-in-India units were made available for sale within just 10 days of the global launch. This year, expectations are even higher, with Apple aiming for an even shorter timeframe, or possibly even simultaneous availability. The Chennai-based Foxconn manufacturing unit will initially cater to the local Indian market before considering export possibilities.

Recently, the Indian government implemented restrictions on the import of various electronic items such as laptops, tablets, and personal computers. Initially planned to be effective immediately in the first week of August, these restrictions have now been postponed for three months. Starting from November 1, clearance for the import of certain electronic items will be required. While this may create some challenges, the local production of iPhone 15 models in India ensures that they will not be subject to these import restrictions, guaranteeing a smoother and quicker release in the Indian market.

With the launch of the iPhone 15 series on the horizon, Apple enthusiasts worldwide are eagerly awaiting the unveiling of these highly sought-after devices. The news that the iPhone 15 models will likely be available in India on the same day as their global release or shortly after is sure to further ignite the excitement among Indian consumers. By manufacturing the devices in India under the Make in India initiative, Apple not only ensures a timely release but also aligns with the government’s efforts to boost electronics production in the country. As the Indian market continues to grow, the availability of the latest iPhone models will undoubtedly contribute to Apple’s success and consolidate its place as a leading smartphone brand in India.
